SHOWTIME’S FIRST TAPING~!

We just finished the first taping last Sunday of my Filipino talk show here in Canada called “Showtime! with Johnny Bautista.”
I know it’s kinda a late blog entry, but better late than never, right? ^_^
Everything went well at the studio. I had a great time. I had to ask someone to take snapshots during the interview segment with the show’s very first guest Shibaten - a traveling busker from Japan.

Seriously, those red chairs look hot. The thing on the table is the logo of the studio. We had to put something on the table at the last minute. I think it worked out ok.

We did about a 6-minute interview. Time just flew right by while we were doing it. Maybe because I was a bit nervous during the start of the shoot. I felt more comfortable after a while though.
Shibaten is known for playing a DIDGERIDOO - a wind instrument of the Aborigines of northern Australia. I think in this pic I was asking him about the instrument he was holding - where he got it, what’s it made out of, and all that other stuff.
We both had a great time. He wanted to strike a pose with me right after we finished shooting. I was more than happy to oblige. ^_^ v
After the interview, Shibaten performed a track from his latest album. His music is something you have to experience. He was amazing!

After the taping: a quick photo-op with Shibaten’s manager Tracey.

NOYTUBE

One of the talk show’s segments is “NoyTube” - a segment that features videos made for and by Filipinos from all over the world.

The segment was inspired by a YouTube video of the same name.

The video being shown on the wall was created by JASON TELMO (aka “chinaeyes22), a graphic artist living on the Philippines. I asked his permission to use the term and video for the show. I’m so glad he said yes.

The pilot show will premier on Canadian cable this October. The next show will be taped in a few weeks. Thanks to everyone to supported me. Without you, this never would have happened.

Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat!
