I’ve been chosen to be a beta tester
for Friendster Blog 2.0!
Friendster has decided to switch blog hosts from TypePad to Wordpress, which means my job is to try out the new features and give ‘em feedback on what works, what doesn’t, and what could be improved.
From here on in, everytime I update the blog, it will now be posted here in the “new” blog. Friendster has finally decided to improve the experience for its members by adding more blog functionality and options. However, as an active Friendster blogger who is already used to the old blog host (TypePad) it will take a while for me to adapt to the new look of the blog. I’m gonna have to start to be more open-minded.
Below is the link to the “old” blog. I’m not sure how long Friendster is going to keep the URL so enjoy it while you still can. I’ll do the same, too. *sniff*

The change couldn’t have come at a better time. I have some news I want to share with all of you.

Note: For some reason, a lot of my previous entries are missing here in version 2.0…which sucks. Fortunately, everything is still intact in Version 1.0.
yea.. me too have received an email from them…ugghh.. i still am very hesitant to switch because i have lots of things to edit.. haha… think ill be switching later..

All of the blogs will be automatically switched to Wordpress on SEPTEMBER 10. I think it’ll be a lot easier on your part if you postpone all your editing until after the switch.
but.. does it mean that if all the blogs have switched to wordpress, the old link to our blogs hosted in typepad will be unavailable?

No, you will still keep your old TypePad URL in your new Wordpress blog. Your links and addresses will stay the same. Only the look will change. What you have right now is only temporary…a beta URL. Once Blogs 2.0 launches, everything will be switched to Wordpress but your ORIGINAL URL will remain.

oh my.. so does it mean that i won’t be able to view and edit my old blog soon? because honestly, i like it better with typepad as i can enter css codes.. and.. just if friendster makes the customization avalable with this WP platform, it’ll be okay for me to switch. man, ayoko pa mag-switch! :((
Yeah, unfortunately, Wordpress currently doesn’t support CSS and XHTML codes. I was actually pretty bummed out that I couldn’t put up my “J-Pop Video Library” here in the new WP blog. But I’m trying to keep an open mind about this. Besides, I really don’t have a choice but to accept the switch. By the way: whether you like it or not, Friendster is going to do the switch for you(unless they already have).
I’m just going to wait for Friendster to activate their PLUGINS option for WP, which they said will be up very soon. At least with that I can finally embed some videos as blog entries. I already have a few ideas for my next videoblogs. It’s always a hassle to ask people to visit my YouTube Channel when they should have the option to instantly watch my vids here at the blog.

anyways, i’d like to let you know that i have switched — i exported my blogs here in friendster and made a new blog with a free hosting site… I am also using wordpress there. Wordpress’ features here in friendster is very limited.. but when you use it together with a hosting site, you’ll get more of wordpress.. you have access to the file manager and you’re able to do.. pretty much anything you want…
i have provided here a link to my new blog.. i haven’t told about it to my friends because i’m not yet done with its look..
it’s so sad some friends that i asked to compare it with my old blog said that my old blog’s design is better.. :(( oh well, so now i ask you.. as of now i have 3 out of 3 friends that said the old blog’s design is better.. haha.. i want another judgement! hahaha
