I’m back! It’s great to finally blog again.
I’m actually at a "computer rental place" not too far from where I work. I still don’t have an internet connection at my apartment. I’m getting paid next Thursday and, hopefully, I can have it set up by next weekend. To be honest, my budget right now only covers food, the rent, and my "Metropass" - a fare card Torontonians use on buses, streetcars, and the subway. I’m trying to save as much as I can until next week.
Here are some general comments about living on my own and other stuff…
I like where I live. I live in a 3-storey apartment/house with plenty of rooms for tenants. Each floor has its own kitchen and bathroom and the entire house is air-conditioned - which is great considering it’s starting to get warmer now here in Toronto. I’m renting a fairly-sized, clean, and comfortable basement room just 15 minutes from work.
My room’s pretty bare right now. Since I just moved in two weeks ago, I really haven’t found the time to decorate the place. Hehe. I have my computer at one end of the room and my television and DVD player at the other. I have a small shelf for my snacks and kitchen stuff and a mini-fridge where I keep my drinks, yogurts, and the like.
The people I live with are really nice. The tenants are all Filipinos, which makes living at the house even better. Most of them work the night-shifts so I barely see them. But when I do, we share a good chat about living in Toronto, our lives in the Philippines, and other kinds of small talk.
Having no internet connection sucks. For a guy who’s used to being online everyday, it’s tough to adjust to not being able to check your daily e-mail or go to Friendster. Good thing I have my all my J-Pop PVs saved in my computer. At least that’s keeping me sane. It’s good I found this internet rental place. For $2 CDN an hour, I can at least get my internet fill. I can’t wait to get my internet connection in my room. One more week, Johnny. One more week.
I’m glad I still have my readers. Even when I was away, there were still people who sent me good luck messages, blog comments, and general feedback. I appreciate this greatly. Many thanks to all of you.

congratulations on your move, johnny. i can imagine how exciting and frightening and exhilarating that experience can be. i remember feeling the same way when i moved out of my parents’ house in manila in 2000. that joy, however, was cut short when i had to move back in because my new office was much closer to my old home. nevertheless, i wish you good luck!
