Today I bought you flowers
from the lady across the street

I blushed and thanked her kindly
as I paid for the bouquet
I told her you were special
in every inch and in every way
As I walked around the corner,
people looked at me and smiled
Some yelled, "Go get ‘em, tiger!"
while others were just beguiled
This is how I show my love
Through flowers, that’s what I do
It may seem too old-fashioned
I don’t care ’cause I love you
Flowers may not last forever;
it may not even last a day
Yet the magic it brings to people
will always be with them to stay
So here I am at your doorstep
Never thought I’d get here that fast
Never thought I’d be this nervous
The moment’s here at last
Anxious thoughts came to mind
as I rang your doorbell twice
"Should I say a big speech?"
"Should I just be concise?"
And as you answered the door
I knew exactly what to do
I took a deep breath and said,
"THESE FLOWERS ARE FOR YOU."
Of all the poems you posted…i read this first…it just came to me that i should read the very first poem you posted… i really like it…I liked the part when someone said “go get ‘em tiger” and “it may seem too old fashion”…It just caught my attention…’cause i think…most of the time….its a better way to court a girl in a sweet old fashioned way….well that’s just my opinion…I’m glad you like reading (i’m just assuming) and writing poems too…I hope to read some more poems of yours…
